Arizona State University has co-managed the 47-acre Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve in partnership with the Maricopa County Flood Control since 1994, working to interpret and protect +1500 Hohokam, Patayan, and Archaic petroglyphs. Maricopa Bird Alliance is partnering with the park to improve bird habitat on site through invasive plant removal, water feature installation and native shrub plantings. Spend a couple weekend hours assisting and check out this special and under-visited site in north Phoenix.
