Policy Leadership in Washington

How we advocate for birds in Washington State and beyond.

̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ is a respected and influential voice on public policy issues, from town halls to the U.S. Capitol. We have the power to convene diverse stakeholders to solve even the toughest problems related to climate change—like sea-level rise and energy planning for a fossil fuel-free future.

Our ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Washington network includes nearly 50,000 members and 25 chapters covering every legislative district in the state. Through direct contact with decision-makers, conservation campaigning, and coalition-building, we bring the full power of ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ to bear on behalf of legislation addressing issues such as bird conservation, ecosystem restoration, and clean air and water. As we work together to advance our shared vision across Washington, Ì½»¨¾«Ñ¡ is poised to become an even more powerful advocate for birds, conservation, and the environment.

Take Action and Advocate Effectively

One strength of the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Network is its ability to mobilize around ever-evolving conservation challenges through political advocacy, community education, and engagement. Lawmakers care about your views and opinions. As a constituent, you have a unique power to convey your concerns about issues affecting birds, wildlife, and their habitats. Participating in ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡'s advocacy efforts is easy and will go a long way in protecting our birds and wildlife. Here are some ways you can take action:
