Located in the heart of downtown Rockland, Maine, the Project Puffin Visitor Center celebrates the successful restoration of Atlantic Puffins along Maine’s coast. The center inspires visitors from near and far through interactive exhibits, educational programming for all ages, live-stream webcams, and more.  Please note that the center follows a Federal Holiday schedule with regard to holiday hours.

Summer Programs

Programs for children to inspire the conservationists of the future.

Learn something new each week! These hour long presentations are held on at 1PM on Tuesday afternoons in July and August. 

Join authors, ornithologists, and ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ staff for presentations in the theater of the Project Puffin Visitor Center. Presentations begin at 5PM on Wednesday in July and June.

We're proud to partner with local companies to offer a unique opportunity to view the thriving seabird colony at Eastern Egg Rock and learn about seabird restoration from an ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Naturalist!

Puffin tours with (Boothbay Harbor, ME) and (New Harbor, ME) begin in May and run through mid-August, occur rain or shine, and are dependent on sea conditions. Bring appropriate attire, including a sweater or windbreaker and sunscreen. Additionally, binoculars are strongly recommended to enhance your viewing experience. Keep in mind that wildlife is unpredictable and no sightings are guaranteed.
