Tucker joined ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Upper Mississippi River in February 2026 as the Iowa Conservation Manager. He is facilitating the rollout of the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Conservation Ranching program in Iowa and is excited for the opportunity to work with farmers and ranchers in his home state. Before coming to ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡, Tucker worked as the Western Iowa Assistant Land Steward for The Nature Conservancy. While there, he taught Anna Beal interns, helped to manage a herd of over 200 American Bison, and implemented land stewardship, including prescribed fire, on preserves in the Loess Hills and Little Sioux River Valley.
Tucker earned a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from Franciscan University of Steubenville and worked as an archaeologist before attending North Dakota State University to pursue a Master of Natural Resource Management (which he will complete in May 2026). During his time in graduate school, Tucker collected data on breeding and migratory birds and conducted a social survey at ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Great Plains Urban Woods and Prairies Initiative sites along the Red River in Fargo, ND and Moorhead, MN.
Tucker lives in Hawarden, IA with his wife and their four children. He enjoys hiking with his family, canoeing, backpacking, identifying plants, and birding.
