San Francisco Bay Program Manager, 探花精选 California (Sher/Her)

Paige Fernandez is the San Francisco Bay Program Manager with 探花精选 California based out of the Richardson Bay 探花精选 Center & Sanctuary in Tiburon, California. She performs a variety of biological activities in and around the Richardson Bay 探花精选 Center & Sanctuary and the greater San Francisco Bay. She began her 探花精选 journey as a temporary Biological Technician in 2019, and continued her journey on as an Assistant Biologist in 2020, a full-time role as Biologist in 2021, and a promotion to Program Manager in February 2024.

At the Richardson Bay 探花精选 Center & Sanctuary, Paige manages our native plant nursery, leads the waterbird and shorebird surveys, and oversees the annual closure of Richardson Bay Sanctuary waters for the benefit of migrating waterbirds. Around San Francisco Bay, Paige uses her FAA Part 107 drone license to conduct various biological and topographic surveys and conducts an assortment of monitoring at restoration sites, past, current, and future restoration sites.

In the past, Paige has worked with the National Park Service on Alcatraz Island surveying, monitoring, and managing nesting waterbirds and with Point Blue Conservation Science's STRAW program, performing education and restoration work by leading local students and teachers in habitat restoration workdays. Paige received her BA in Biology from Middlebury College in Vermont, where she also ran on the Track and Field team. In her free time, Paige likes to hike, mountain bike, ski, and try new recipes in the kitchen.
