About

Lisa Gonzalez is the Vice President and Executive Director of ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Texas. She leads a dedicated team working across the state to protect birds and the places they need through conservation action, science, policy, and community engagement. Lisa oversees ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡â€™s efforts in Texas’s coastal, grassland, and urban ecosystems, focusing on habitat restoration, advocacy, and building partnerships that create lasting benefits for both birds and people. She has helped expand key programs including ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Conservation Ranching, Coastal Conservation, Lights Out Texas!, Bird City Texas, and initiatives promoting the responsible siting of clean energy infrastructure.

Before joining ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡, Lisa served as CEO of the Houston Advanced Research Center, where she guided research on resilience, climate adaptation, coastal management, sustainable land and water use, and clean energy. She holds BS and MS degrees from Texas A&M University at Galveston and the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she focused on coastal biology and environmental management.
