After serving in several roles at the Seward Park ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Center, I became the Center’s director in 2015. My vision is to make nature-based education accessible to all students in local schools and to create programs that help people build meaningful connections with Seattle’s wild spaces.

I’m a native of Washington, DC, and a lifelong Maryland Terrapin, but I’ve come to cherish the woods and waters of the Evergreen State. I’ve also served on National ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡â€™s Strategic Plan Committee and as a member of ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡â€™s Diversity & Inclusion Cohort.

I owe so much to this community. Through programs that spark joy in the natural world and inspire meaningful action, we work together to protect birds and the places they need to thrive—places like Seward Park.

For me, sharing nature is the most rewarding part of this work. It’s not just pointing out what I’m seeing or hearing—it’s listening to how someone else experiences the moment, and receiving it with the same sense of wonder and joy.

Seward Park is a special place. People come here for birds, trees, and mountain views, but also for lowriders, dance performances, and bike races. There is room for all of us in Seward Park—and in ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡.
