About

Indigo arrived at the Center in March 2025, a suspected imprinted bird. When young birds are raised by humans or kept as pets, they can imprint on humans, making life in the wild impossible as they do not learn the essential skills their species needs to survive in the wild. Indigo fell out of his nest and was kept for nearly six months before he was brought to our Center, so while he was not injured, he could not safely return to the wild. You may see Indigo, sometimes called Indy, on walks with his trainer, during storytime, or out in the community with our education team.
