About Strawberry Plains ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Center

Learn about the center's history and staff.

Welcome to the Strawberry Plains ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Center—where nature and history meet. The center was founded when sisters Ruth Finley and Margaret Shackleford donated a 2,400-acre property to the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in 1998.  Since then, ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ has taken up management of additional DOT mitigation properties, expanding the managed acreage to 3,000. ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Delta is the regional ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ office that manages Strawberry Plains.

Strawberry Plains ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Center has demonstrated how local conservation—through working lands and bird-friendly communities—enhances the welfare of wildlife and people. While at Strawberry Plains ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Center, you can hike the trails, view birds year-round, and explore a variety of woodland, grassland, and watershed habitats.
