Jim grew up in a small town in the rolling hills of N.E. Ohio. As a child, he spent hours exploring the forest and small streams close to his home. As a result, I developed a fascination of and a great respect for nature.
While nature photography is seen by some as a pursuit of solitude, I have never felt that way. It is true that I am in the forest alone (except for my french bull dog Riley). But I am so focused on the beauty and the creatures in the forest that I don't think of myself as being alone.
I took an early retirement after 31 yeas in industry and now I am able to enjoy my passion full time. I find photography pure enjoyment!
