Groups move at a relaxed pace, covering 1 to 2 miles over a mix of cement sidewalks, gravel paths, and dirt trails. Discover the birds, plants, and wildlife that call the Rio Salado home while enjoying a morning outdoors with passionate guides who share their knowledge and love of nature.

on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 9:00 a.m. These calm, guided walks are designed to be accessible and welcoming for everyone. Together, we’ll explore the trails, observe the wildlife, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the desert and riparian ecosystems. Participants move slowly, pausing to use their senses to fully take in the natural surroundings, and sometimes sitting quietly to observe birds and other wildlife. Join us for a fun, family-friendly nature adventure at the Rio Salado ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Center! Kids and families are invited to get outside, explore the trails and gardens, and discover the wildlife that calls the Rio Salado home. Each guided session begins at 10 AM and lasts about 45 minutes, offering an easy and enjoyable walk filled with opportunities to spot birds, insects, plants, and more. After the walk, families can stick around for extra hands-on activities, from creative nature crafts to interactive games or additional outdoor exploration, making it a perfect way to learn, play, and connect with nature together.
